MY NEW WATERCOLOUR PAINTING, “FLORAL PRAISE”

Hi Dear Friends,

I hope you are all well and enjoying your Bank Holiday weekend!

I thought I’d introduce you to my new watercolour semi-abstract piece “FLORAL PRAISE”.

I purposed to create a floral piece that shows nature in the act of worship, and I decided on painting vibrant red and soft pink roses with purple petunias. As these two flowers are not normally displayed and painted together, I made a calculated decision as I painted them, and I am so happy with the finished composition. I wanted to create a vibrant and flowing motion with the blooming flowers and leaves contrasting with the grounding earthen tones below. I also felt that a semi-abstract wash of purple-blue sky added a sense of expectancy and atmosphere to the piece.
